'Introduction to Radiology' Open Day and Sub-Speciality Careers Day - 13th & 14th November 2017.
The Introduction to Radiology event has been expanded following the success of our previous events. After the renowned success of last year’s event, this exciting two day event aims to provide an insight into a career in Radiology and give helpful tips for the competitive application and interview process. The event is aimed at Junior Doctors (F1/F2) and all medical students who may wish to consider a career in Radiology.
Over the course of two days, sessions will comprise of talks highlighting how far Radiology has come, what it’s like to be a Radiologist, training, the application process and what the future holds. We will also be holding a series of workshops where you will get hands on experience at ultrasound in a simulated clinical environment, as well as Interventional Radiology simulation. In addition, there are sessions focussed on image interpretation and a dedicated Q&A session to help you find out those hints and tips that may help you land your dream job as a Radiologist.
Careers in Radiology, interview tips and life as a registrar will be discussed on day one. A more focussed look at the subspecialties in Radiology and how to choose the right career for you will be the focus of the Careers Day on day two.
The cost of all of this is just £40, which includes lunch and refreshments on both days. There are only 45 places and these will be allocated on a first come first served basis. The closing date for all applications is Friday 13th October (late applications may be considered, depending on available spaces).
The winner of the 2016 poster presentation is Dr Nathan Chan. Dr Chan has since had this poster published and is due to begin an ST1 post on the Norwich training scheme this September. The poster can be viewed by clicking on the link below:
